Making the decision to book your session can get quite confusing. I have put together some of the questions families ask the most before they book with me to make the process easier for you. Please feel free to contact me if you have more questions .
I prefer to photograph newborns the first 2 weeks of their lives, ideally 7-14 days but I have had older babies come in as well!. It is best to book your session well in advance so please give me a call as soon as you know your baby's due date. I will make a tentative booking for 10-21 days after your due date and we can amend it if your baby is early or late. Newborn sessions can take up to four hours and I usually only book them Monday to Friday. However, sometimes I have Saturdays available at an extra cost of $100. All newborn sessions start at 10am. I only ever book one newborn session a day so the day is yours and there is no rushing your baby.
The session fee is $100. This fee secures your booking and is deducted from the package you choose to buy after your session. The session fee is non-refundable. I have 3 packages and they all include digital images you have selected with a print release. Please refer to the pricing page for more details on the packages.
None at all! I have a range of outfits, wraps, props and accessories for your session. However if you have something special or of sentimental value that you would want me to include in your photos, please bring them along!
Standard newborn sessions typically last 2-4 hours but it all depends on the baby. All babies are different and I always allow time for feeding, settling and cuddling. Mini sessions last about an hour
All sessions start by 10am, Monday to Friday
Partners and siblings are welcome to join but not for a mini session.
Plain and neutral colors like black, white, creams beige and other soft, neutral colors always work best in family photos as they are not distracting and will not take attention away from your faces! Skin on skin images are also amazing and beautiful! These are just tips but the decision is all yours. The room will be very warm to keep baby comfortable so it's best to wear something light. Baby may also poo and wee on way so please come with a change of clothing incase there are accidents!
Within 2 weeks after your session I will invite you back to my studio or schedule a zoom call for a viewing and ordering session. You will be shown 20-35 professionally edited images on a beautiful slide show. After viewing, you will then select the images you want in your package. After selection and payment the digital images will be sent to you via we transfer to download immediately.
I only book sessions from Monday to Friday. However, I have some Saturdays available for an extra fee of $100
Yes! I specfically trained to be a newborn photographer at the Russ Jackson Academy, the leading Newborn Photographer in London. I have also trained on posing newborns safely and pediatric first aid. I have invested in a lot of training workshops and I only practice safe posing techniques, putting the safety and comfort of your newborn first.
I work from my home-studio located in Mountain House California, 94555 where I have created a warm, safe and comfortable environment for you and your baby and I have all props and equipment set up and ready for your arrival! Unfortunately, I do not do home visits.
RAW images are not available for sale. After your session, you will receive professionally edited images of your choice in JPEG format.
Sessions are booked according to availability and you will need to arrange your session directly with me.
